The refrigeration manufacturer Vestfrost Zrt. is expanding its production capacity in Csongrád, located in the Dél-Alföld of Hungary.
Originally headquartered in Denmark, Vestfrost Zrt. is one of the world’s leading refrigerator manufacturers, with nearly 60 years of manufacturing experience. The company employs approximately 2,600 people globally, and its products are available in more than 100 countries. The Csongrád plant was established in 2010 and has since become a key contributor within the entire corporate group.
The nearly €14 million investment focuses on the construction of a warehouse of more than 5,000 square meters, machinery procurement, and the installation of a solar energy system. As a result of these innovative developments, production capacity is planned to increase from 79,000 units to 105,000 units, while the expansion will create 123 new jobs. The capacity increase enables the manufacturing of higher value-added, digitalized products, as well as the application of intelligent solutions providing remote access capabilities.
The activities of the Csongrád site have now expanded beyond manufacturing to include research and development. As a result of R&D activities in Hungary, Vestfrost Zrt.’s product portfolio continues to broaden, while the environmental impact of production is being reduced in parallel. The local R&D team of more than 40 employees, consisting of highly qualified engineers and supported by a continuously expanding dual education program, makes a significant contribution to the economic development of the region and to strengthening cooperation between the company and the local community.
